Delete your account in the app

Open BabyDuo → Settings → Delete account → confirm. It takes effect immediately.

No access to the app anymore?

Email support@ammerbrothers.at from the address your account is registered with (subject "Delete account") and we will delete it for you.

Signed in with Apple and hid your address? Then your account is registered with a relay address, and mail cannot be sent from one. Write from any address instead and put the relay address in the message — your iPhone shows it under Settings → [your name] → Sign in with Apple → BabyDuo (on the web: account.apple.com → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple).

What gets deleted

Everything below goes at once, in a single step, and permanently:

the account itself, your email address, display name and password hash;
your Google and Apple sign-in links — and we ask Apple to revoke our access at their end too;
your sign-in, confirmation and password-reset tokens, which ends every session on every device;
all your swipes and ratings;
all your matches — your partner keeps their own account, but the matches you shared are gone from it;
the names you suggested, which also removes them from your partner's deck;
partner requests you sent or received, and the partner link itself;
your push notification tokens;
the feedback messages you sent us;
your purchase records — deleting your account does not cancel a VIP subscription: cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account first, or it keeps renewing. Any VIP time left is lost with the account and cannot be restored.

Nothing personal is retained — except in our encrypted database backups, which still hold your data until they are deleted, at most 30 days later. They are only ever used to recover from a failure, never to bring back a single account. We keep nothing for tax purposes: the sale is made by Apple or Google, not by us. Short-lived technical server logs expire on their own, and aggregated, anonymous statistics (e.g. how often a name was liked overall) are not linked to you.

One thing we keep on purpose: a bare note that an account existed — the month it was created, the month it was deleted and whether it signed in with a password, Google or Apple. It holds no email address, no name and no id, and is linked to nothing else. We use it only to count sign-ups.

What we cannot delete

If you subscribed to VIP, Apple's App Store or Google Play keeps its own record of that subscription under their own policies — that record is theirs, not ours, and deleting your BabyDuo account does not reach it. Their privacy policies explain how to deal with it.
